Occasionally, I like a good lightly toasted bagel schmeared with cream cheese and topped with slices of savory smoked salmon. But then I recently thought, “what would it be like if I combined the two?” That is, incorporate the smoked salmon into the schmear? Well, I decided to do just that! Along with a couple of herbs, the results were just as delicious!
Cream cheese and salmon become very flexible in this form. Not only is a great spread for delicious bagels on the go, but you can also enjoy it on toast, crostini, or crackers, scoop it up with bagel or tortilla chips, or even between a sliced croissant with a some lettuce and tomato. Best of all, it’s very very simple to make! Here’s what to do:
- 12 oz. tub cream cheese spread
- 8 oz. smoked salmon, finely minced
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 tbsp chopped dill
- 2 tbsp chopped chives
- Pepper to taste
WHAT TO DO
Simply combine all of the above ingredients in a large bowl and beat with a hand mixer until well-combined and smooth. It’s that simple!
